I’m looking for a website with meatless recipes for picky eaters.?

Our family has 8 people – many are children. I am trying to ’slowly’ convert them over to more meatless recipes and organic foods, but my smallest ones are SOOO picky. I need more kid-approved recipes and all of the ones I’ve seen online contain tons of beans, zucchini, eggplant and the such – my 6 year old and 3 year old won’t have a thing to do with those! HELP!

Dear lord, feeding childen vegetables? You are a cruel and heartless woman…. haha. Careful, they might just declare feeding kids vegetables as illegal as spanking them. What child in its own mind would happily embrace EGGPLANT? LOL LOL

Let me tell you a silly little secret. When my daughter was 2 she decided ALL she would eat was pjb. Nothing else would pass her lips. Rather than argue over such silliness, I just gave her the best pb and top quality whole grain bread. Along with her milk that was enough. This lasted six months! Eventually she decided avocado was more fun to play with and we were off to a more balanced diet.

I just did not want to begin the pattern of arguing and chose my battles wisely. Surely your kids love fruit? Do they like nuts and healthy snack foods like raisins etc? Have they discovered “ants on a log” yet? (celery stuffed with cream cheese or peanut butter with raisins along the top). Healthy pancakes is another. Sometimes it is just presentation too. I found a pancake with a face made of fruit seemed to be received with more enthusiasm.

Here are a few sites with pictures of the final foods that are very healthy vegetarian. I betcha you will find a few winners. I have been meatless for 30 years now.. omg am I that old?… and am in excellent health.

Most of the sites I have here also have sections for childrens’s foods as well. Not a bean or a zucchini to be seen! LOL I hope these sites have good ideas for you to check out.

    You can make a good tomato sauce for spaghetti that does not have meat in it. Other Italian dishes can be done without meat.

    What about some oven baked things like breaded mushrooms (my little girl loves them with cocktail sauce) breaded brocolli, onion rings, oven fried potato, oven fried sweet potato fries, perogies, hush puppies (easy to hide a little zuchini in). I find a fun way to get kids to eat veggies is to make a fondue (you can get a fondue pot in most thrift stores for a dollar or two) I make a spagetti sauce, then give them garlic potato, bread cubes, steamed brocoli, mushrooms, and tater tots to dunk. I do the same with alfredo sauce. I arrange the dunkers on a platter around the pot, and give them their own forks to put the dunkers on . (for young children, do NOT use flame under the pot-just preheat the sauce to the right temp, it will stay warm for a good bit. Kids love the variety of choosing their own dunkers. I vary them, with mozzerella cheese balls, potato puffs, breaded zuchini, etc. They usually dont mind the veggies, as long as the sauce is interesting. My daughter and I are vegetarian, and have frequent slumber parties (having on right now, in fact) and the fondue is always a hit, and the other kids dont even realize there is no meat. We also do alot of stir fry in the wok, and fried rice. If you involve your kids in the cooking (little ones can stand on a stool, well away from the stove and be given simple tasks, like placing liners in muffin tins, arranging things on platters, stiring batters, etc. Then, they feel more involved in the process. Muffins are another good way to hide zuchini and carrots. Hope this helps a bit
